just finished this and it is FASCINATING. not just about how psychedelic drugs work (and how promising they seem for helping to treat depression, anxiety, and more) but also about how our brains work and why it’s so easy to get so caught up (and unhappy) in your own shit and why it’s so hard to let go (feel detached from your ego but more attached to the rest of the universe and all creatures in it) but feels so amazing when you do. (ran out of room for the whole title but it’s How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence by Michael Pollan, Penguin Press 2018 hardcover, design by ?? kindle versions rarely give credit, which is shameful, anyone help me out?)

Jane,
Regarding Pollan’s How To Change Your Mind book, my copy says Book Design by: Marysarah Quinn and Jacket Photo by: Craig Cutler.
Regarding trees: another excellent book to read is: Tree, A Life Story (2004), by David Suzuki & Wayne Grady, with Art by Robert Bateman.
I hope to attend your Powell’s event in Portland, Oregon.
